As we reflected on 2018 and looked forward to 2019, we dreamt of New Year’s Resolutions and how we could be better spa salons. Among our goals and resolutions in 2019, we wanted to further our commitment to the environment.Our alliance with Aveda was our first step toward natural products and environmental consciousness. Now, to further our commitment to the planet, we are excited to announce our partnership with Green Circle Salons!

What is Green Circle Salons?

Green Circle Salons provides the world’s first, and North America’s only, sustainable salon solution to recover and repurpose beauty waste ensuring that we can all help keep people and the planet beautiful.

What does recovering and re-purposing salon waste mean?

Green Circle Salons is a special program that ensures hair, foils,color tubes, plastics, papers, and chemicals are diverted out of our landfills and water systems. That is 90-95% of our salons waste.

Even the hair we sweep from the floor is repurposed. Hair can be used to help clean up oil spills, as a gardening tool to keep away rabbits,deer, etc. as well as a natural fertilizer as it decomposes. We are proud to be a part of this Green Initiative to Revolutionize the Industry.

With Green Circle Salons’ partnership, we can:

·      Turn hair clippings into hair booms to clean up oil spills, or to be made into pillows for international aid efforts.

·      Turn color tubes & used foils into new metal.

·      Turn chemical residue into new sources of energy.

What does this mean for me?!

First off, as a Daylily client, you get to be a part of this movement with us!  When you come to our spa salons, you can know you’re helping support environmental and social progress,while reducing your own carbon footprint.

In addition to the Green Circle recycling bins you’ll see in our salons, you’ll notice a small environmental fee on your Daylily service ticket that helps support the fees of recycling and re-purposing. The amount of this contribution to the green initiative is dependent on your service and never exceeds two dollars.
